Baked Carmel Corn

And well worth the 1-1/2 hrs of baking!!

2 C. brown sugar
1 C. butter
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 C. karo syrup
1 tsp. baking soda
8-9 quarts popcorn

Mix the first 5 ingredients and bring to boil. Stirring often, boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Keep stirring until foaming dies down. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and mix well. Divide and pour onto 2 cookie sheets. Bat at 200 degrees for for 1-/2 hrs. Stir every 15 minutes. Let cool and stir. Store in an air tight container.
